Local Project Profiles

Have you closed on a project in the Portland area that other PMI Portland Chapter members may be interested in? If so, we would love to include it in our monthly newsletter.

You may write an article yourself, or we can interview you and capture the fascinating details that describe your methods, approach, outcomes and lessons learned. An initial draft is always preferred, however.  You may want to use this PMI Case Study Questionnaire to help you organize your information.  We would like to draw from your experience and expose Chapter members to the unique challenges and themes of our Project Management work in these areas.

Contact Dir. of Content Marketing  today for more information.

From One Project Manager to Another: Lessons Learned

One of the many benefits of being part of a professional network like PMI Portland is the opportunity to learn from your peers. And in the project management business, learning lessons from past projects and applying them to future projects is a critical aspect of a successful career.

So, let’s hear them. I’d love to introduce a new monthly segment to the Newsletter that spotlights a lesson learned from a project you worked on in the past, or that you are currently working on. It can be as short or as long as you like, and we can keep it anonymous if you prefer.  Click here.

Please reach out and let me know if you’re interested… and don’t be surprised if I reach out directly as well! Dir. of Content Marketing

Earn PDUs

It is the responsibility of each author to document the time they invest researching and preparing the article, and use this as the basis for claiming PDUs. Details on how many PDUs must be earned, and in what categories, is included in the handbook specific to your credential. The only limits that apply are those for each PDU category. Generally, you should use Category C (Self Directed Learning) for time spent reading and/or researching and Category D (Creating New Project Management Knowledge) for time spent writing the review or article. It is also good practice to only claim PDUs for activity that you can document or justify in the event of an audit. See PDU Reporting for more information.
