Join us at an exciting new venue for our panel event "Globally Dispersed Project Teams". Our experienced panel of project managers will answer questions about the challenges and best practices for managing globally dispersed project teams. The panel will touch on how to measure success, what the benefits are and what managing these teams looks like. They'll highlight some success stories and maybe share a horror story! Attendees are able to jump in with their own questions with ample Q&A opportunities.
ENSO Winery is located in SE Portland. Wine will be available to purchase, PMI Portland Chapter will host light appetizers from Elephant's Deli. Please register by November 11th so we have an accurate count for our food order.
Karl Ahlen has worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers for over 20 + years in New York, Germany, South Korea, Los Angeles and now Portland. In those 20+ years of experience, he has been a project manager on a wide verity of projects and also has had to manage teams over multiple countries, times zone and cultures. Karl Ahlen is a trained civil engineer with a PE and PMP.
Nazih Hijaouy currently works as a program manager in Eaton’s eMobility division on components for hybrid and electrical vehicles. He has worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years and has over 15 years of experience managing projects with team members across N. America, Europe, and Asia. Nazih holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Detroit.
Fred Barbee is the Director of Ethernet Customer Solutions for Intel. Fred has been leading global teams for over a decade. His current global teams spans the Cloud, Communications, Enterprise and Embedded/IOT markets.
Marshal Oller is a dynamic servant leader who has successfully delivered transformational initiatives for fortune 100 companies, health care innovators, elite military organizations and innovative start-ups. For over 25 years he has expertly led teams that have produced cutting-edge digital solutions to the delight of his stakeholders. As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Nike, Marshal oversees Corporate Information Security (CIS) support to Nike’s global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Central Finance (CFIN) program which is Nike’s #1 strategic initiative.
Marshal has been a member of the Portland PMI Chapter since 2013. He began volunteering with the Outreach portfolio in 2018 and advanced to the VP of Outreach / PMI Portland Chaper Board Member role in 2020. Marshal’s leadership of the Outeach team produced the 1st ever virtual Portland Chapter Meeting, the strategic partnership with APEX systems, and dozens of in-person outreach networkings events.
He is a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a Scaled Agile (SAFe) Product Owner, Product Manager and Advanced Scrum Master. Marshal is a Willamette MBA Honor Graduate and possesses a Master’s degree in Logistics & Transportation from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). When Marshal isn’t wrangling programs, coaching global teams or helping people achieve their dreams he can be found cheering rooting for the Timbers, listening to live music or spending time in the majestic Pacific Northwest with his dog and two kids.
