Chapter Meeting – Strategic Planning For PMPs (In Person)
Join the PMI Portland Chapter for a hybrid November Chapter meeting. Select this option if you would like to attend the in-person meeting, held at the Portland DoubleTree Hotel.

Does your company need to get better at planning 5 or 10 years out? In this session, Jeff Oltmann will explain why you should care about strategic planning and how PMs like you can influence change. He’ll explain how strategic planning can make your company more resilient for the future, how to start the conversation within your company now and how to turn strategic ideas into prioritized actions. The event is $30 for members and $45 for non-members. In-person participants will be required to have their face masks on throughout the duration of the meeting and follow all COVID protocols as directed by the staff. Drinks and appetizers will be provided during the in-person meeting. In-person meeting registration will be limited to the first 50 that register, all others are encouraged to register for the virtual event. Participants will be able to self-report 2 strategic PDUs for attending.
Jeff Oltmann is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience developing new products and managing successful programs. His specialties include strategy deployment, operational excellence and project portfolio management. He is principal consultant at Synergy Professional Services and previously ran the Program Management Office and a $60M+ project portfolio for IBM’s xSeries development facility in Oregon.
Jeff’s hands-on experience ranges from start-ups to program budgets over $100M, with worldwide cross-functional teams of over 100 members. In addition to consulting with clients in a wide range of industries, Jeff teaches portfolio, program and project management and is part of the graduate faculty of the Division of Management at Oregon Health and Science University.
