Agile is much more than a practice. It is a set of principles and values, a way of thinking, a mindset.  Application of Agile is not limited to technology.  Cultivating an Agile mindset can help businesses not only survive, but also thrive in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous (VUCA) environment.  In this session, we will get hands on and learn about concepts that can help cultivate an Agile mindset.

Learning Objectives:

  • Is there a cost of context switching? (context switching game)
  • Does limiting work in process matter? (the penny game)
  • Is self-organization desired?  (60 steps in 60 seconds game)

Keynote Session Title: Overview of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) v5.0

At the team level, Agile has helped many organizations achieve agility.  However, when a solution is complicated and requires multiple teams working across several practice domains, Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban provide little specific guidance.  Scaled Agile Framework is a Lean Agile framework that enables teams and organizations to adapt scaling practices and principles.  With the latest iteration of the framework, SAFe extends the concept to include the entire enterprise to capitalize on emerging opportunities and manage risks to achieve business agility.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the principles, competencies and key practices of SAFe
  • Scaling Agile with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Learn about Essential and Portfolio configuration of SAFe
